Training and Consultation

Leewards Therapeutic Consultancy takes a unique and holistic approach to training and consultation services. Our focus is on providing comprehensive support to schools, kindergartens, child care centers, churches, and community organisations dealing with the impacts of family violence, sexual assault, and problem sexual behaviors. We are dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment through our specialized training programs and reflective practice sessions.
Our team, led by JoyLee Kilpatrick, leverages 17 years of expertise in therapeutic interventions, trauma impacts, EMDR therapy, play and creative therapy, as well as risk assessment and safety planning. With qualifications in Psychology, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapy and Sexology as well as registration with PACFA and CCAA, JoyLee ensures that our approach is rooted in trauma informed practice as well as being in line with current legislation.

 

Our training programs cover a wide range of topics including; recognising and responding to family violence and sexual assault, addressing the impacts of trauma, risk assessment, safety planning, creating and running therapeutic groups and creating safer communities.

At Leewards, we understand how challenging it can be to respond to family violence and sexual assault within a community and the difficulty of knowing how to support people beyond the legal obligations of safety and mandatory reporting.
